چکیده
Objective: To assess its role in stone clearance along with ESWLin patients upper ureteric stones. Method: This clinical trial was conducted from February 2018 to December 2021 at the Department of Urology, Services Hospital Lahore.. Atotal 164 (82 each group) both sexes between ages 18 and 70 years (6mm-15mm) were included this study. These randomly divided into two groups. Patients group A received ESWL alone, while B combination tamsulosin therapy. Follow-up visits CT KUB Plain planned 4 weeks postoperatively Results: The mean age 44.01±10.88 years. study 124 (75.6%) male 40 (24.4%) female patients. size stones 9.59±2.72 mm. Both groups comparable terms (p=0.539), (p=0.936), (p=0.507), (p=0.817), gender distribution (p=0.631). rate significantly higher treated tasmsulosin therapy (92.7% vs. 65.9%; p=0.003) compared ESWLalone. Conclusion:

Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy of pancreatic stones.
Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy of pancreatic stones was performed in eight patients with chronic pancreatitis and a dilated duct system harbouring stones 5 to 20 mm (means 10 (SD) 5 mm) in diameter. After endoscopic sphincterotomy of the pancreatic orifice the stones were disintegrated by shock waves under fluoroscopic control using a kidney lithotripter (Dornier HM3). The procedure was ...

Based on the 89 stones treated by ESWL therapy alone, the factors which influence the number of ESWL shots were analyzed. Stone volume was calculated by summing up the value "length x short axis" for each stone. The value correlated well with the number of shots needed to disintegrate the stone (p less than 0.01). The stones below the pelvis-ureteral junction needed twice shots compared with st...

Concrement lithotripsy in the kidney and ureter using extracorporeal shock waves (ESWL) was performed with the aid of a 2nd-generation lithotriptor--Lithostar Siemens. Over a period of 11 months ESWL was applied in 526 patients aged 7 to 80 years, 10 of these were children. 19 patients had bilateral lithiasis so that the treatment was applied to a total of 545 renoureteral units and 698 concrem...
متن کاملOutpatient treatment of middle and lower ureteric stones: extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy versus ureteroscopic laser lithotripsy.
The aim of this retrospective study was to evaluate the efficacy of ureteroscopic lithotripsy (URSL) and extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) in the treatment of middle and lower ureteric stones. From January 1996 to March 1997, 61 patients treated by URSL and 49 patients treated by ESWL were studied, both were conducted as outpatient procedures. URSL using Holmium laser and semirigid u...
متن کاملTreatment of Distal Ureteric Stones-comparative Efficacy of Transureteral Pneumatic Lithotripsy and Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy.
BACKGROUND Ureteric stones greater than 6mm require intervention. Extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy (ESWL) and ureteroscopy (URS) with intra-corporeal lithotripsy (ICL) are two least invasive therapies. Both show acceptable stone clearance. What should be the first line of treatment in distal ureteric stones? We conducted this study to compare the efficacy-of ESWL and pneumatic ICL in order ...
